Production of 20 primary mineral drug substances in the country within the next 2 years

The Secretary of the Advanced Materials Technologies and Manufacture Headquarters stated that our program in the mining sector is oriented towards the production of 20 primary mineral drug substances, and in this regard, calls have been made. According to Mehr News Agency, Sadegh Sadeghzadeh, speaking at a press conference held today at the Vice-President’s Office for Science, referring to the fact that the Materials and Advanced Manufacturing Technology Headquarters has four operational areas in the fields of mineral materials, petrochemicals, advanced materials, and manufacturing, stated: Advanced manufacturing refers to production methods that mainly use materials processing.

The development of materials and advanced manufacturing technology document is being finalized

The Secretary of the Materials and Advanced Manufacturing Technology Headquarters stated that the development of the materials and advanced manufacturing technology document has been under discussion for years but has not yet been finalized due to various reasons. He added: In the past 5-6 months, with a focus on this document, we have come close to the final stage and I believe it will be approved by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution in the next two months. This document will determine the path of technology development in this area, with two axes: the first axis is reducing raw material sales, and the second axis is increasing the quality of people’s lives.

Iran to develop 20 primary mineral drug substances

Sadeghzadeh announced two projects of this headquarters in the field of developing primary mineral drug substances and lithium-ion batteries: “In the mining sector, our program is oriented towards the targeted development of 20 primary mineral drug substances, and calls have been made in this regard so that we can choose the best ones and take effective steps in the field of mineral drug substances in the next year or two.”

Iran aims to produce lithium-ion batteries on an industrial scale

“Secondly, we are targeting the production of lithium-ion batteries on an industrial scale, which is now being set up by a government agency, and we hope that it will be achieved in the next year or two,” added Sadeghzadeh.

Collaborating with technical and vocational universities to train skilled technicians and industry professionals

The Secretary of the Materials and Advanced Manufacturing Technology Headquarters, referring to the signing of a memorandum of understanding with a technical and vocational university in the field of training skilled technicians, said: According to this plan, which is set to be unveiled in the next week, the technical and vocational university will train skilled industry professionals domestically for specific majors. We currently have challenges in the materials field in different cities of the country and this problem is less in Tehran.

Launching the “National Incremental Manufacturing Center” in Iran

Sadeghzadeh announced the launch of the “National Incremental Manufacturing Center” and said: “We aim to promote the use of these technologies and the application of advanced manufacturing in this area through launching this center, and we are currently negotiating with several large industrial complexes.” Incremental manufacturing is known as 3D printing, a revolutionary approach to producing ordinary and industrial parts that enables creating lighter, more durable systems and parts over time by adding materials onto each other. He added that six-dimensional printers have currently been introduced to the world, and this field has many applications in industries, and we must now think about developing this technology in the country.

Project for genome tracking with artificial intelligence

“We have two cornerstones at the headquarters, one of which is materials genome tracking, which we are currently conducting with artificial intelligence. There are two million new materials in this area that have not yet been researched by humans, and it is significant since we can consider materials with various genomes. Calls have been made due to the importance of this issue, and we hope to achieve results in the next year”, added Sadeghzadeh.

Supporting developmental projects

He referred to the support the headquarters provides for evolutionary projects: “One of the projects is the Materials Olympics, in which we hope to have numerous participants in the next year. With this project, a competition will be held every two years.
